The Windgate Foundation sponsors scholarships for art education majors enrolled at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The scholarship is open to incoming and currently enrolled freshmen. Applicants must submit a research paper on a topic in art education or a portfolio of their original artwork. Students who are selected receive a one-time award of $4,000.

The University of Toledo offers the Sara Jane DeHoff Art Scholarship to incoming female freshmen planning to major in art education. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 grade point average and a demonstrated financial need. Awards are granted based on the quality of work submitted in the applicant's portfolio. Selected students receive up to $2,000 per year for up to four years.

The Pennsylvania Art Education Association sponsors the Clyde M. McGeary Scholarship for Pennsylvania residents enrolled in undergraduate and graduate art education degree programs in-state. Applicants must be nominated by a PAEA member. Awards are based on academic achievement, financial need, artistic talent, leadership skills and participation in PAEA activities. Scholarship award amounts vary based on individual need and association funding.
