The American Academy of Chefs sponsors a scholarship program for graduating high school seniors, college students and professional chefs who seek to further their education in the culinary arts. Applicants must meet minimum GPA requirements and be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited culinary arts program. Recipients are selected based on participation in American Culinary Federation activities and approved cooking competitions, volunteer work, letters of reference and commitment to a career as a chef or pastry chef. Individual funding awards are based on need and are determined by the scholarship committee.

The Careers Through Culinary Arts Program is a scholarship competition for high school juniors and seniors who attend a C-CAP participating high school. Participation in the competition requires students to prepare traditional French dishes from memory. Those students who demonstrate the highest level of skill are selected to receive cash scholarship awards ranging from $500 to $20,000. Additionally, students may compete for scholarships for specific culinary institutions, including full-tuition awards from Johnson and Wales University and the Culinary Institute of America.

The Culinary Institute of America offers several merit-based scholarships to prospective and currently enrolled students. Scholarships include awards for achievement in food writing, cooking for competitions, leadership in food service and the Cream of the Crop Scholarship for students who demonstrate overall academic excellence and leadership skills. Scholarships range from $500 to $20,000. All applicants must meet individual eligibility requirements for each award.

The Women Chefs and Restaurateurs sponsors over a dozen scholarship programs in cooperation with culinary arts schools and programs around the world. Applicants must be active members of WCR who are at least eighteen years old. Additional eligibility criteria is required for each award. Scholarships range from $5,000 to full tuition. Students who participate in international programs receive funds to pay for travel arrangements to and from the host country.
