The CANFIT Project provides scholarship funding to low-income students who are planning to complete a culinary arts degree. Applicants must be enrolled in a culinary arts school in California and be of African-American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Asian-American, Pacific Islander or Latino/Hispanic descent. Individual award amounts vary and selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

The James Beard Foundation provides scholarship funding to students who are enrolled at least part-time in an accredited culinary arts degree program. The Friends of James Beard Scholarship Program provides awards ranging from $2,000 to $9,000, and certain awards require students to meet specific eligiblity requirements. The James Beard Foundation School Scholarships provide tuition waivers in varying amounts to selected culinary arts institutions in the U.S. and abroad.

The American Culinary Federation and the American Academy of Chefs sponsor several scholarships for graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled colleges students who seek degrees in the culinary arts. There are several general scholarships available as well as scholarships designed specifically for students enrolled or planning to enroll at the Culinary Institute of America or Johnson and Wales University. Individual scholarship awards are determined by financial need and estimated tuition costs.
