This scholarship is for college students who wish to attend a civilian medical school upon college graduation. Those who qualify can concentrate their studies and are not required to perform Navy duties until medical schooling is complete. The HPSP program can cover up to 100% of your medical school tuition. In addition, those who qualify will receive up to 48 months of payment for monthly living expenses and will be offered a five-figure financial bonus for singing on.
The HSCP program entitles a student to receive money while in medical school. The one-time six-figure amount for which you are eligible can be determined by your medical recruiter upon interview. In addition, this program pays a monthly salary and entitles you to a housing allowance and a comprehensive health care plan. As with the HPSP, Navy duties are not performed until schooling is complete.
This program is the only program available to current medical residents who are interested in becoming a Navy physician. At this stage, when schooling is complete, the FAP program offers you a six-figure payment during your residency. This money includes a substantial annual grant for up to four years and a monthly stipend to cover living expenses. All of these funds are provided in addition to resident pay. Your Navy medical recruiter will be able to determine the exact figures based on your individual situation.
