Us Navy Scholarships

The Navy gives recruits the opportunity to learn skills and travel the world, and it can also provide a way to pay for a college education. Some programs allow recruits to attend college either before or after their service commitment, and there are other scholarship opportunities for yourself or for your dependents.
  1. Naval Special Warfare Foundation Scholarships

    • The Naval Warfare Scholarships are awarded to dependents and family of those serving in the Navy under the NWS command. These scholarships are awarded on merit, with the board looking at both academic achievement and an essay to determine who will get the money.

    The Agron Seal Scholarship

    • This scholarship is for dependents of Navy personnel in the SEALs program and is based on prior academic record as well as ongoing contribution to the Navy SEALs. The scholarship awards $1,000 a year for up to four years as long as an academic standard is maintained. A GPA of 3.2 is the minimum requirement as of February 2010.

    Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program

    • This scholarship offers undergraduates the chance to complete their education without worrying about where the money is coming from. By applying during your first year of studies, you can get as much as $169,000 for school and finish your degree program without student loan debt or a day's worth of military service. Requirements include being enrolled full time in a four-year institution and maintaining a 2.7 GPA. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. After graduation, students will be able to step right into a leadership role in the Navy with a minimum service commitment of four years.
