Washtenaw Community College offers a scholarship for those enrolled in the phlebotomy program. You are required to write a 150-word essay explaining why you deserve the scholarship and you will also be required to acquire a letter of recommendation from a counselor, employer or other professional who can vouch for you in both the work force environment and academic environment.

The Thomas T. Wheatley Memorial Scholarship is offered to residents of Berks County, Pennsylvania. The scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a degree in EMT, paramedics, phlebotomy or nursing. Scholarship applicants need to write an essay on "Why you want to pursue an education in the EMT, Paramedics, Phlebotomy or Nursing field and why you are choosing this field as a career." In addition, they must have a 3.0 GPA and 100 hours of volunteer community service under their belts.
