Phlebotomy Scholarships

A degree in phlebotomy is relatively easy to acquire, only requiring a few classes. As a phlebotomist, you will be required to draw people's blood and perform very basic nursing functions. There are a few scholarships available to ease any financial burden. Most of these scholarships are offered on a per campus basis.
  1. American Society for Clinical Pathology

    • The American Society for Clinical Pathology awards several different scholarships, including scholarships for enrolled or recently graduated phlebotomy students in the amount of $500. The selection criteria for this scholarship is based on professional goals, leadership abilities and community activities.

    Medical Skills for Life Institute

    • The Medical Skills for Life Institute offers five $1,000 scholarships for students seeking financial help to help them achieve their degree in phlebotomy. The selection criteria is based on academic skills.

    Washtenaw Community College

    • Washtenaw Community College offers a scholarship for those enrolled in the phlebotomy program. You are required to write a 150-word essay explaining why you deserve the scholarship and you will also be required to acquire a letter of recommendation from a counselor, employer or other professional who can vouch for you in both the work force environment and academic environment.

    Thomas T. Wheatley Memorial Scholarship Fund

    • The Thomas T. Wheatley Memorial Scholarship is offered to residents of Berks County, Pennsylvania. The scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a degree in EMT, paramedics, phlebotomy or nursing. Scholarship applicants need to write an essay on "Why you want to pursue an education in the EMT, Paramedics, Phlebotomy or Nursing field and why you are choosing this field as a career." In addition, they must have a 3.0 GPA and 100 hours of volunteer community service under their belts.
