The HSF/General Motors Scholarship Program is administered by the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. HSF/General Motors Scholarships provide eligible students with awards of $2,500. To be eligible, a student must be a graduating high school senior, or currently enrolled undergraduate freshman, sophomore, or junior. A student must also be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States, must be enrolled or planning to enroll on a full-time basis, must be of Hispanic heritage, must be pursuing a degree in engineering, business or human resources, and must have a grade point average of at least 3.0. An applicant must also demonstrate financial need by filling out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Interested students should visit the HSF website to apply.

The General Motors Foundation Scholarship is administered annually by the Society of Women Engineers. Three SWE General Motors Foundation Scholarships are awarded each year in the amount of $3,000. To be eligible, a student must be female, must be an undergraduate, and must be in her sophomore or junior year. Furthermore, a student must be majoring in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, automotive engineering or manufacturing engineering, and must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 out of 4.0. General Motors provides scholarship assistance to students attending private colleges in Michigan through two scholarships administered by the Michigan Colleges Foundation. The General Motors UNDERclass Minority Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $1,000 to an underclass student. The General Motors UPPERclass Minority Scholarship is available annually in the amount of $5,000 to an upperclass student. To be eligible, a student must be a graduate of a Detroit area high school, must belong to an ethnic minority group, and must be attending an eligible private college in the state of Michigan.
