Muslim American Scholarships

A variety of scholarships are available to help Muslim American students pay for the costs of higher education. Non-profit organizations dedicated to funding Islamic Americans in higher education are the most common source for Muslim American scholarships. Some scholarships for Muslim Americans require that a student have a history of community service.
  1. The Islamic Scholarship Fund

    • The Islamic Scholarship Fund makes educational grant money available to Muslim American students through its scholarship program. ISF Scholarships are awarded in amounts that range from $1,000 to $10,000, and are available to both graduate and undergraduate students. To be eligible, a candidate must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, must be Muslim, must be a college junior or above, and must have a grade point average of at least 3.4 out of 4.0. Preference will be given to candidates who have been active in their communities. Interested students should visit the ISF website for more information.

    Fadel Educational Fund Scholarships

    • The Fadel Educational Fund provides annual scholarship assistance to Muslim American students. Fadel Educational Fund Scholarships are awarded in amounts of up to $3,500. To be eligible, a student must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States. Scholarship amounts vary according to an applicant's need. Scholarship applications become available in February of each year, and must be returned by mid-April. Awards are typically posted sometime in July.     NASIMCO CSAA Scholarships

    • The Organization of North American Shia Ithna-asheri Muslim Communities provides scholarship money to Muslim American students through its Community Service and Academic Achievement Scholarship program. NASIMCO CSAA Scholarships are awarded in amounts of $1,000 or $2,000. To be eligible, a student must be a full-time student at a North American institution, must have a grade point average of at least 3.0, must have participated in a community service effort, and must be recommended by a NASIMCO member. The annual deadline for application is August 15. Interested students should visit the NASIMCO website for more information.
