Jamaican Government Scholarships

Many scholarships are offered to students by the Jamaican government, a vast array for all types of students. There are three general educational scholarship types: merit-based awards for those who demonstrate academic mastery, grants for specific majors or areas of study, and need-based scholarships for the financially burdened or needy. With so many scholarships to choose from, it's really just a matter of finding the best grant to fit your needs and doing everything you can to ensure you end up getting it.
  1. ISA Endowment Fund

    • The ISA Endowment Fund is offered to deserving Jamaican students by the Jamaican Ministry of Finance and Public Service. Qualified applicants must he Jamaican citizens, studying a marine-related field and academically successful, and they must intend on working in Jamaica for at least five years after they've received their postdoctoral degree. The award amount is full tuition and fees for the duration of the program.

    European Graduate School Scholarship

    • The European Graduate School Scholarship is offered to a Jamaican student by the Jamaican Ministry of Finance and Public Service. Qualified applicants must be Jamaican citizens, studying media or communications, academically accomplished and involved in civic activities. The award amount is full tuition and fees for the length of the designated graduate degree program.

    UK Commonwealth Scholarship

    • The UK Commonwealth Scholarship is offered to a Jamaican graduate student by the Jamaican Ministry of Finance and Public Service. Qualified applicants must be Jamaican citizens, must exhibit academic mastery and must demonstrate leadership potential. Students must also have received their undergraduate degree less than five years prior to their application and must submit three personal and professional references. The award amount is full tuition and fees for the duration of the program.

    American University Washington College of Law Scholarship

    • The American University Washington College of Law Scholarship is offered to a deserving Jamaican student wishing to earn a master's degree in America by the Jamaican Ministry of Finance and Public Service. Qualified applicants must be Jamaican citizens studying international law, and they must plan on returning to Jamaica to work for at least five years upon completion of their program in the US. The award amount is full tuition and fees for the duration of the program.
