The Endeavour Awards is a merit-based, internationally competitive scholarship program aimed to provide educational opportunities to citizens of Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions to study professional development in Australia. Scholarship winners will be a part of Australia's new initiative to increase global awareness of Australia's rising quality of education and training through ongoing educational, research and professional links.
A small number of scholarships are also awarded to Australian students studying abroad, as well as applicants from Europe and the Americas.

Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) concentrate on advancing leaders who can influence social and economic policy reform and pressing development outcomes in their own countries, along with the Asia-Pacific region of the world.
The ALA program offers both scholarships and fellowships. Scholarships are available to applicants at master's or doctorate education levels in an Australian university, and must relate to programs in certain development areas: economic growth, water and sanitation, health, or rural development. Since the ALA scholarships are aimed to develop leadership and partnership ties to the Asia-Pacific region, awarded students are required to return to their home country for two years after completion of their studies to put their knowledge to practical use.

Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) focus on establishing and contributing long-term development needs to surrounding partner countries in order to promote good governance, human development and economic growth. Scholarship recipients will learn vital skills and knowledge to help initiate change and kick-start new development outcomes in their own country.
There are two different categories of the ADS--public sector and open. Public sector applicants are employees from the public sector, nominated by their government. Scholarship recipients are required to return to their public role after completion of their award. For open applicants, no government nomination is necessary, but they must meet other selection requirements. Like the public category, applicants are required to return to their country after completion to put skills and information learned to use.
