The Spanish government's Ministry of Education provides grants to North American Language and Cultural Assistants for a fully funded year in Spain. The grant is awarded to both American and Canadian citizens--what happened to Mexico in Spain's estimation of North America is unclear--who are native speakers of either English or French. Language and Cultural Assistants spend an academic year in Spain helping Spanish citizens learn English and French through cultural context, while learning about Spanish culture and language. Candidates will receive a minimum allowance of 700 euros monthly and should have an undergraduate degree and intermediate level of Spanish.
