Finnish Government Scholarships

According to The Washington Post, Finland's educational system is widely recognized as the finest in Europe. There are 16 universities in Finland, with approximately 176,000 students as of 2010. In 2007, more than 11,000 international students from 100 countries were studying in degree programs at Finnish universities. There are 450 programs, covering a variety of disciplines, that are taught in English. Tuition is no longer free to full-time students who study in English-language programs, and the cost of living is high. The Centre for International Mobility (CIMO), a part of the Finnish Ministry of Education, manages scholarship programs for international students.

Then the applicant must submit a curriculum vitae, reference letter from a Finnish language teacher, including an assessment of language ability, a confirmation letter from the hosting Finnish university, and a study plan.
