Residential Autism Schools

Residential or boarding schools are often a last resort for children with autism. There are good schools that are autism specific. However, it is important to be careful when choosing a school as some are for children who are behaviorally challenged or emotionally disturbed. It is also important to keep in mind the school's policy on the use of restraints and seclusion. Some residential schools that employ a "behavior modification" program are notorious for child abuse, so parents should be very careful to make sure a school has a similar view to theirs as to what constitutes abuse.
