Residential Architecture Schools

Architecture schools are located virtually throughout the world. You can find residential architecture programs in the United States, Canada and Europe. Various U.S., Canadian and European accrediting agencies not only accredit but also have information about architecture schools, degrees and programs in membership countries such as the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Spain.
  1. National Architectural Accrediting Board

    • Along New York Avenue in Washington D.C., the National Architectural Accrediting Board, or NAAB, is close to the American Architectural Foundation near 17th Street NW. As the "sole agency authorized to accredit U.S. professional degree programs in architecture," NAAB has information on virtually every U.S. architecture school with residential architecture programs. NAAB's Find Accredited Programs website has a directory of architecture schools nationwide, including institutions that offer various types of degrees. For example, the NAAB offers information on Southern California Institute of Architecture, Florida Atlantic University and Cornell University's residential architecture programs.

Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture

    • As another nationally recognized accrediting agency, the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, or ACSA, is also based in Washington D.C. between F Street NW and New York Avenue. ACSA has listings of residential architecture schools throughout the U.S., Canada, and the United Arab Emirates -- such as the American University School of Architecture located in the city of Sharjah. Auburn University, Boston Architectural College, Carnegie Mellon and City College of New York are among the many architecture schools listed with ACSA.

    Canadian Architectural Certification Board

    • Located in Ontario, Canada, the Canadian Architectural Certification Board, or CACB is situated close to the Rideau Center on Nicholas Street in the city of Ottawa. CACB is an agency that certifies many architecture schools throughout the territories of Nunavut, Yukon and the Northwest. Certifying architecture schools in provinces such as British Columbia, Alberta, Nova Scotia and Quebec, CACB's membership includes colleges such as the University of Calgary, Carleton, University of Manitoba and the University of Waterloo in Ontario.

    European Association for Architecture Education

    • In Leuven, Belgium, the European Association for Architecture Education, or EAAE, sits close to the Katholieke Universiteit along Kasteelpark Arenberg. With approximately 140 represented architecture schools including universities such as the Bergen School of Architecture, Bialystok Technical University and the University of Belgrade, EAAE's membership countries also include Turkey, Romania, Russia, Serbia and the Ukraine. Associate EAAE members include Zimbabwe's National University of Science and Department of Architecture, the University of Haifa in Israel and the University of Hong Kong.
