Determining the top international schools for architecture is no easy task. Many ranking lists are focused primarily on American architecture schools, while the remaining lists focus on individual countries. The top schools on an international scale can only be determined by comparing and combining these various lists. The top international architecture schools tend to be those schools with a broad range of degree programs, a reputation for advanced research in the field and a tendency to produce graduates who excel in the field.

    • One of the top architectural programs in Great Britain is offered through the Department of Architecture at the University of Cambridge. The "Guardian University Guide" for 2011 ranked the program as the top U.K. architectural school.
