Click on "File" from the menu bar on the top of the page.

    • 3

Select "Page Options" from the file menu.

    • 4

Choose "Landscape" for the page orientation.

    • 5

Change the paper width to 5 inches and the height to 3.5 inches and then click "OK."

    • 6

Type the information needed on side one of the flash card. For example, if this flash card is for learning math, you might type "3 + 5." A vocabulary flash card would have a word on side one, such as "oak tree."

    • 7

Press Enter on the keyboard several times until the word processor starts a new page.

    • 8

Type the answer or definition on the new page. Using the example in Step 6, this flash card would have an answer to the math question or the definition for the word.

    • 9

Set your printer settings as directed by the manufacturer for printing 3.5 inch by 5 inch index cards.

    • 10

Print side 1 of the flash card.

    • 11

Flip the flash card over to the blank side and place back into the printer.

    • 12

Print side 2 of the flash card.
