How to Make Printable Graduation Cards

  Turn on your computer and connect to the Internet.

  Download a free graduation card template from a website like 123printcards.com. The site offers printable card designs that you can edit.

  Click on the template's text box. Type the graduation information, including the graduate's name, the school he is graduating from and the date, time and location of the graduation.

  Place card stock into the printer. Print out the front cover of the graduation card first.

  Place the card stock back in the printer so that the printed image is face-up. Do not change the orientation of the card stock. Print out the card's interior message.

  Fold the card stock in half.

Create a Template

  Open the word processing program on your computer.

  Change the layout of the page by clicking "File", then "Page Setup". Change the layout from "Portrait" to "Landscape". This will ensure that the text direction will be horizontal after you fold the card.

  Divide the page into four quadrants. In order to print all of your card information on one side of the page you will have to fold it twice: once vertically and once horizontally. Fold a sample card and write Front, Back, Left Interior and Right Interior on the paper. This will help to keep you organized when you add information and pictures to the card.

  Create a text box for the front of the card in the correct quadrant of the page. Write a the graduate's name and the type of graduation in the text box. Add clip art such as a diploma or graduation cap to the front of the card.

  Create a text box for the interior of the card. Write information about the graduation, including who is graduating, along with the date, time and location.

  Print out the card and fold it vertically, then horizontally so that the card pages are all aligned in the correct order.
