How to Make a Graduation Diploma

Graduation diplomas are a memento to treasure. Make a custom graduation diploma rather than purchase one. Make diplomas for preschool, elementary, middle school, junior high and high school graduations. Use graduation diplomas to decorate for a graduation party or to give at clubs and organizations when participants are moving to another level or to a new venue.

Instructions

    • 1

Search the internet for free graduation diploma templates. Download a template into a word processing or graphics program.

    • 2

Select the type and size of font to personalize the diploma. Don't use more than two fonts on the diploma to keep it aesthetically pleasing. Add personal information to the diploma such as name of recipient, date of graduation and name of conferring program or organization.

    • 3

Purchase heavy-weight paper in the preferred color. The weight of the paper needs to be appropriate for the printer you're using. Typically diplomas are made in muted colors.

    • 4

Buy self-adhesive foil stickers to put on the printed diploma to give it an official, professional look. Foil stickers can be found at craft stores. Some stickers have embossed words on them such as "Graduation," "Good job" and "Way to go."

    • 5

Print the diploma on your heavy-weight paper.

    • 6

Review the finished diploma for printing, spelling and punctuation errors. Sign the diploma to designate the validity of the document.
