Gather all of the images and notes that you would like to place on your flash cards. Think about the purpose of your flash cards when gathering images and notes. For example, if you creating flash cards for the study of reptiles, thee image of an alligator with the necessary information underneath the image will be appropriate.
Search for a free, online flash card website and set up an account (see Resources). Locate a button on the website that says "Sign Up" or "Register." Most of these sites just require a user name and password to setup the account.
Open a blank flash card. The website will have instructions on how to use the tools on the site. Look for a button marked "Create New Flash Cards" or "New Flash Cards."
Type your questions and answers in the appropriate fields. A new screen will appear and there will be a section for "Questions" and "Answers." Flash cards generally have one side that asks a question and the other side with the answer. Think about questions you may have trouble answering or understanding.
Edit and format your flash cards. You can add images or change fonts, color or size of your text.
Save and print your work. Go to "File" and select "Save As." Most sites will allow you to save your document either as a Word or PDF document. Save your document in a place you will remember. Turn on your printer and place printable perforated index or flash card sheets in your printer. Follow the website and your printer instructions. Cut or separate the flash card sheets after printing.
