How to Reference a Dissertation Using APA Format

The American Psychological Association's Style Manual gives specific directions for referencing sources to students, researchers and other social science professionals. A reference list appears on its own page at the end of a paper or journal article. It should have the word "References" centered at the top of the page. The text should be double-spaced and entries ought to be alphabetized. Each reference, if longer than one line, should have a hanging indentation where the second line is indented one-half inch from the margin.
