How to Reference a Published Doctoral Dissertation Using APA

American Psychological Association (APA) style is often used to cite sources when writing research papers and essays in psychology and the social sciences. General APA guidelines indicate that your research paper or essay must be typed in double-space with 1-inch margins, with a page header at the top of each page. Divide the paper into four sections: title page, abstract, main body and references. Cite references based on the kind of source material you used.
