EOC Summer Programs in Buffalo

Working in conjunction with the State University of New York, the Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) offers academic and vocational programs to assist New York residents in attaining educational and economic goals.
  1. GED Program

    • Buffalo's EOC program provides a year-round General Education Diploma (GED) readiness program and classes to prepare individuals to take and pass the New York State GED test. After analyzing the individual's educational needs through a GED Practice Test, the center provides day and evening classes to improve skills in targeted areas, such as science, math, social studies and writing.

    SAT Preparation

    • High-school students seeking entrance into four-year colleges and universities must prepare for and take the SATs to qualify for entrance. The Buffalo-area EOC offers workshops providing assistance to high-school students interested in improving the academic skills necessary to complete the SATs. Workshops are offered on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month to those students who qualify.

    Civil-Service Exam Preparation

    • New York State requires certain state, city and federal employees to pass civil service exams to qualify for employment. To assist applicants in preparing for the exam, Buffalo's EOC offers year-round workshops designed to help potential civil-service applicants successfully improve their scores through instruction on test-taking strategies and techniques.
