The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) at New York University is home to its online master of science (M.S.) program in Human Resource Management and Development. Graduates learn methods of recruitment and hiring, as well as how to administer benefit programs. The 42-credit program can be finished in as little as two years on a full time basis; part-time students complete the degree in about five years. Core courses in global economy, decision making and organizational behavior lay the foundation for the student's concentration in human resource management, human resource development or organizational effectiveness. An elective course covering a special topic such as incentives or executive compensation rounds out the master's program curriculum; students finish the degree by completing a capstone project which takes the form of a group project or thesis paper. SCPS seeks applicants with two years of work experience and qualified applicants may be eligible for scholarships or fellowships.
