The College offers an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in biomedical engineering technology. The program arms students with the skills they need to perform maintenance, troubleshoot, operate and repair medical equipment. The University of Maryland, a Tier One university, offers a Master of Science (M.S.) in biotechnology studies online. Students from any academic background are welcome to apply for the course, but students without a molecular biology background will need to take a college-level molecular biology course as part of the master's degree program. The program offers three specializations, one of which is bioinformatics, an important aspect of biomedicine. The M.S. in Biotechnology Studies is completed online.

DeVry University offers a bachelor's degree program in biomedical engineering technology. The program combines in-depth coursework in engineering with biology to yield graduates well-versed in construction, design, maintenance and repair of medical equipment. The degree takes nine semesters full time. Select locations of DeVry offer capstone courses for this class, but a bulk of the coursework can be completed online.
