    Metropolitan State University

    • Metropolitan State University is part of Minnesota's state university system. With three campuses in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, Metropolitan State is well-recognized among Minnesota residents, but does not carry the same national appeal as either Walden University or Capella University. In actuality, the several colleges and universities within the state system collaborate to offer students online degrees, but the degrees are granted by the institution actually offering the degree as part of its curriculum. Metropolitan State offers master's programs in the fields of nursing, business administration, public and nonprofit administration and management information systems. In all, the state system offers more than 200 online degree options, only about 15 of which are at the master's level. These are divided up among the larger state universities like Metropolitan State, so each school only offers a select number of master's degrees.
