USF Online Master's Programs

If you've already completed a bachelor's degree and are looking to take your education further, the next step on the collegiate pathway may be a master's degree. Graduate degrees are available in just about every field of undergraduate study, building on those classes and introducing students to more in-depth coursework. For students who prefer to learn online, online master's programs are available at many schools. Schools that offer standard bricks and mortar campuses may also offer online divisions, such as the University of South Florida's (USF) e-Campus, with multiple master's programs you'll complete entirely online over the Internet.
  1. Master's in Physical Education

    • Earn a master's degree in physical education through USF's online program. Topics of study include analysis of research on teaching physical education, instructional design and content, analysis of teaching in physical education, grant writing in physical education, psychology of physical education, foundations of educational research and sport in society. Most students complete the program in about two years. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. A major in education is not required, but students without a teaching certificate may have to take additional courses during the program. Students must have an Internet connection and the Microsoft Office software package.

    Master's in Public Health Administration

    • Take your public health administration studies further with a master's degree in the field. While enrolled in the program, students complete course work in epidemiology, public health law and ethics, global primary care strategies, environmental and occupational health, introduction to social marketing for public health, managing quality in health care, biostatistics, and principles of health policy and management. Students have up to five years to complete the program.
Candidates require a bachelor's degree with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average (no specific major is required). Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores, a statement of purpose, two letters of recommendation and a resume are required. To be able to complete the online degree program, students must have a CD ROM, sound card, printer, minimum of 96 MB memory, Internet connection (high speed required) and an e-mail address.

    Master's in Health Sciences

    • Learn more about the body and how to stay healthy with a master's degree in health sciences. The completely online program takes two years, with classes in basic medical anatomy, basic medical genetics, basic immunology and microbiology, basic medical histology, clinical correlations in molecular medicine, basic medical pathology, basic medical physiology and basic medical neuroscience. Students interested in the program must have a bachelor's degree with at least a 3.0 minimum grade point average (the average student admitted to the degree program had a 3.4 GPA) and undergraduate course work in general biology and general chemistry. The university prefers students to have also completed class work in organic chemistry, calculus, general physics and biochemistry. Program enrollees must have Windows Media Player, an Internet connection, Java, Flash Player, Acrobat Reader and an e-mail address.
