The Ivy League university has less than 2,500 graduate students, and admission to its master's programs is highly competitive; less than 10 percent of all students who apply to Princeton receive an invitation to attend the school, reports the 2009 Barron's Profiles of American Colleges. Available master's degree programs include architecture, engineering, finance, chemistry, public affairs, public policy, regional planning and Near East studies. The school offers research fellowships to master's students who show extraordinary potential, wish to study abroad or are members of certain minority groups. Almost all students receive assistantships or grants to offset the cost of tuition.
