Summer Programs in Moscow

Attending a summer program overseas affords people the opportunity to embrace other cultures and learn about the world. Participants may choose to learn a new language, attend lectures and visit diverse excursions. Traveling to Moscow offers a chance to taste the cuisine, learn the Russian language, meet people from other countries and see the Kremlin. Moscow is home to a variety of summer programs.
  1. Ziegler & Partner GmbH

    • Enroll to take a Russian language course with the Ziegler & Partner GmbH. The summer program offers two-, three- and four-week courses with 20 lessons weekly at Moscow State University. Instructors from the university teach students at levels from beginner to intermediate. Students do not need prior experience will the language, but it helps if the student is familiar with the Cyrillic alphabet. Participants receive a tour of the university, a trip to the Kremlin, textbooks and visa assistance and stay with a Russian family. Students attend two-day excursions to places such as the Golden Ring and Petersburg.

    State University Higher School of Economics

    • The Center for International Education High School Economics hosts summer programs from the end of May to the beginning of September. Participants stay in Moscow for six days and in St. Petersburg for two days. The eight-day summer program includes social activities, cultural courses and lectures about Russia taught by well-known practitioners and experts. The program does not require participants to speak Russian; however, optional languages classes are available.

    Arizona Russian Abroad

    • The University of Arizona Russian Abroad offers internships and Russian language summer programs in Moscow. The program provides two sessions from May to August. Students receive meals and housing, attend Russian language courses and participate in cultural activities. The language-training program includes lectures, field trips and discussions. Courses include film, newspaper reading, composition and grammar. Internships provide students with opportunities to work in newspaper companies, local business or organizations in Moscow.
