The General Educational Development (GED) test serves as a high school diploma equivalency. To take the GED test in Alabama, you must be 16 years old, be a resident of the state and pay $50. After passing the test, you can send a request for official transcripts to the GED Testing Program located in Montgomery, Alabama. Official transcripts can be used to provide a potential employer or school with proof that you passed the GED test.

Access the Alabama "GED Form 3" on the Alabama Community College System website. You can also pick up a copy of this form in person at any of the GED testing centers
