How to Get an Official GED Transcript in Pennsylvania

The GED (General Educational Development) Test serves as an equivalent to a high school diploma. Colleges and other institutions may need to see your test transcripts as part of your application package. If you took the GED in Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Department of Education has set up a transcript request form generator. For a small fee, you can send GED transcripts to multiple colleges and institutions at once.

Instructions

      Navigate to the Pennsylvania Department of Education's GED transcript request form generator (see Resources).

      Fill out the first page with your name, social security number, date of birth, telephone number, any alternate names you may have tested under (if applicable) and the year you took the GED. Press "Next."

      Fill out the second page with the addresses of the colleges and institutions you wish to send GED transcripts. Press "Next." Your GED transcript request form will be generated on the next page.

      Print out the GED transcript request form. Sign and date it.

      Write a check or money order for $3 (a of 2010) per requested transcript made payable to the "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania."

      Mail the GED transcript request form and payment to: "Pennsylvania Department of Education, 333 Market St., Harrisburg, Pa. 17126-0333."
