  1. Saint Louis University

    • Saint Louis University offers an online certificate in Contract Management designed for students wishing to be certified by the National Contract Management Association (NCMA). The program, operated in partnership with The Boeing Company, focuses on government contracts, but the skills you learn can be applied to any other contract management. You may also apply the credits toward a bachelor’s degree with a minor in contract management. Five courses and one elective are required for a total of 21 credit-hours. The university offers financial aid and scholarship opportunities as well as various payment options. The Boeing Company will pay the tuition for any course in the program a Boeing employee completes.

    University of Virginia

    • University of Virginia’s School of Continuing and Professional Education offers an undergraduate Certificate in Procurement & Contracts Management, which is available on-campus or online. The program is designed for students who wish to work as procurement/contracting officers, contracts administrators or negotiators. To receive the certificate, you must complete 10 courses, six of which are required and four electives. The required classes are Procurement and Contracting, Contract Administration, Cost and Price Analysis, Government Contract Law, Negotiation of Contracts and Modifications and Seminar in Procurement and Contracts Management. The electives include Contracting for Information Resources, International Purchasing and Business Transactions and Purchasing and Materials Management. If you don’t wish to receive the certificate, you may enroll in only the classes that interest you.

    Villanova University

    • Villanova University offers non-degree certificates in Commercial Contract Management and Government Contract Management. Each course can also be taken as a stand-alone. During the program, you’ll study contract, federal and commercial law, the procurement process and the best practices and methods of purchasing. You’ll learn about the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), contract terminology and how to form a contract including the offer, acceptance, the consideration (payment) and enforcement. Other topics include understanding depreciation, strategy formulation, financial reporting and various marketing classes. The courses are taught by educated and experienced professionals, some of whom have doctorate degrees and have worked for Fortune 500 companies.
