Pennsylvania State University has a professional golf management degree program where students earn their undergraduate degree while earning their membership to the PGA. Students will be required to complete five internships in addition to their coursework that includes introductory financial accounting, turfgrass management, club management and operations, principles of management and business planning and golf operations management. Students will also take analysis of the swing, business planning and operations, tournament operations and golf club design and repair. Students who complete this program will obtain a bachelor of science degree in recreation, park and tourism management with a concentration in gold management.

Ohio State University has a professional golf management program that after four and one half years, leads students to earning their bachelor's degree. This is the only professional golf management program in Ohio and requires students to participate in an internship that lasts between 16 and 20 months on a full-time schedule. Students will take courses that include agricultural survey, introduction to professional golf management, the science of growing plants, historical perspective on golf course design and introduction to hospitality management. Students will also take courses in horticulture management, principles of turfgrass selection and management and foundations of management and human resources.

North Carolina State University's golf management program consists of three educational levels, each of which include a series of workbooks that will be submitted to the PGA Education Center and students will then be required to take a test at each level. After students have passed the final level, have passed the playing ability test and have completed the required internship for 16 months, they will then be a Class A member of PGA of America. Students will take courses that include golf management, inclusive recreation, biology in the modern world and golf course turfgrass management. Students who complete this program will earn their bachelor of science degree in professional golf management.
