List of Nursing Schools in North Carolina

North Carolina has more than 70 approved nursing programs as of June 2010 dispersed among three degree levels---bachelor's, associate and diploma. All degree types allow students to obtain registered nurse licenses after completing the program. Applicants should always check the North Carolina Board of Nursing website to ensure that their nursing programs of interest are currently approved.
  1. University of North Carolina Chapel Hill

    • The School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill offers undergraduate and bridge programs. The undergraduate program has a traditional four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing track, a two-year track for transfer students who already have non-nursing bachelor's degrees and a 12-month accelerated BSN track for non-nursing students with bachelor's degrees. The traditional four-year and two-year tracks admit students in the spring and fall. The RN to BSN bridge program allows RNs with associate degrees or diplomas in nursing to obtain BSNs in one to two years, depending on previous college-level course history. The school of nursing conducts the RN to BSN program entirely online.
