Professional Golf Management Scholarships

The Professional Golfer's Association of America (PGA) provides funding for several scholarships through their accredited Professional Golf Management (PGM) programs offered at colleges and universities across the U.S. Many of these scholarships were established to honor legendary professional players and instructors of the game. It is recommended that you join the American Junior Golf Association, a nonprofit organization, that helps young men and women through instruction and competitive junior golf events. Their College Bound Student Membership offers resources for junior players to attain scholarships.
  1. Chip Beck/PGA Evans Scholarship

    • The Chip Beck/PGA Evans Scholarship was established in 1994 to help caddies pursue a college education. It was named for Chip Beck a PGA Tour veteran who was the second person to record a 59 in a PGA event. The Evans Scholars Foundation, named for Chick Evans, was founded in 1930 and is largest privately funded college scholarship program in the U.S. Each year, a Chip Beck/PGA Evans scholarship recipient is awarded $12,500.

    PGM Diversity Scholarship

    • The PGA Foundation provides annual scholarships to accredited PGA Professional Golf Management colleges and universities across the U.S. to assist 30 minority and female students.

      The recipient must be a member of one of the following groups:
      - African-American - U.S. citizen having origins in any of the Black racial groups of Africa
      - Asian-Indian American - U.S. citizen whose origins are from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh
      - Asian-Pacific American - U.S. citizen whose origin are from Asia
      - Hispanic American - U.S. citizen of true born Hispanic heritage from any of the Spanish speaking areas of Latin America
      - White Female American - U.S. female white citizen

    Paul Runyan Collegiate Golf Management Scholarship

    • This scholarship is named for the late Paul Runyan, a famous golf instructor who died in 2002. He was listed as one of GOLF Magazine's Top 50 Teachers, a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame and a two-timer winner of the PGA Championship and Senior PGA Championship. You must be currently enrolled in an accredited PGA Golf Management (PGM) University Program and be completing your junior year. Along with carrying a 3.0 G.P.A., applicants must submit a 500-word paper on the topic "Why Do You Want to Become a PGA Professional?"
