Bryan College of Court Reporting, established in 1940, has campuses in three locations nationwide. The college provides professional training in fields like health information management, health and fitness training and therapeutic massage and bodywork. In addition to providing vocational training, the college prepares students for professional careers through its job placement center, which offers workshops in resume and cover letter preparation, networking and business plan development. The court reporting program at the college is offered through distance learning; students also have the option of taking the course in a traditional classroom setting. The program trains students in reporting procedures and prepares graduates for roles as statement reporters, real-time captioners, deposition reporters and convention reporters.

Founded in 1978, Court Reporting Institute has campuses in Dallas and Houston. The institute is one of the largest court reporting colleges in the nation. Prospective applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. The court reporting program is delivered through classroom and online instruction. Students enrolled in the associate of applied science in court reporting will take theoretical courses and courses in medical terminology, English composition, speed building and principles of speech. The curriculum is designed to prepare students to become certified shorthand reporters. Students will develop their typing speed to 225 words per minute, with a typing speed of 50 net words per minute. The 120-week training consists of theoretical coursework in court reporting, general education electives and practical training. Graduates from the program may work as official court reporters or deposition and caption reporters.

The Academy of Court Reporting and Technology has campuses in three locations nationwide. In addition to providing courses in court reporting, the academy offers training in a variety of vocational fields including criminal justice, medical lab technician, human resource management and security and investigation. The court reporting program at ACRT is certified by the National Court Reporters Association. Students receive broad-based training in the theoretical and practical applications of court reporting. The program provides students with entry-level skills in legal and medical transcription and in the use of computer-aided transcription (CAT) systems.
