Online Court Reporting Classes

Court reporters generate verbatim transcripts of speeches, depositions, legal proceedings, meetings, and other events. Court reporters are responsible for ensuring that the legal record is complete and accurate. In addition to preparing transcripts, many court reporters assist judges and trial attorneys in a variety of ways, including organizing and searching for information in the official transcript. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities for court reporters are expected to increase by 18 percent from 2008 to 2018 (Reference 5). By attending online court reporting schools, students can work at their own pace and from the convenience of their homes. Tuition is generally lower for online or distant learning programs.
