NCRA Online Court Reporting Schools

    • Students attending Sage College have the option to choose a diploma program in court reporting or to complete an associate degree. Students receive training in legal terminology, court procedures and using a stenotype machine. Court reporters are expected to type up to 200 words a minute using the techniques learned through their education and the faculty members at Sage College work with students to accomplish this task.

    College of Court Reporting Inc.

    • The College of Court Reporting offers students the opportunity to learn skills in two types of court reporting, by either typing into a stenograph machine or speaking into a computer-aided transcription program. The university offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in court reporting that can be earned in 28 months. Course options include foundations of law, medical terminology, computerized machine shorthand and court reporting procedures.

      Students beginning studies at the College of Court Reporting in the 2010-11 academic year can expect tuition costs of approximately $5,800 per year. Financial aid options are available for those who qualify.

    Court Reporting Institute of Dallas

    • The Court Reporting Institute of Dallas offers students a 120-week program through which they earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in court reporting. Students are trained to type 225 words per minute using machine shorthand, preparing them for a career inside the courtroom. Course offerings include court reporting English, speed-building, reporting technology, medical terminology and legal terminology.

      Prospective students can expect tuition costs of $3,200 per quarter as of 2010. The school provides a full financial aid staff to assist students with paying for their education.
