Enroll in a TABC-approved certification course like TABCpermit.com, Learn2serve or Texas Restaurant Association (TRA). Pay the course fee to complete the registration process. You usually can register online. It only takes a few minutes.
Complete the TABC course. Course lengths vary, but all TABC certification classes must be at least three hours and 20 minutes long. You must complete them within six consecutive hours. The course includes six units and a course review.
Pass the 25-question, multiple-choice online certification exam, scoring at least a 70 percent. As soon as you pass you will become TABC certified. Your course records will be sent to the TABC, and your name will be added to the TABC training database.
Renew your certification every two years by completing an online TABC course and passing the online exam.
