How to Get Your Coding License

In 2007, spending on health care took up 16 percent of the United States' gross domestic product (GDP). The Congressional Budget Office released predictions that same year that spending on health care could grow to as much as 49 percent by 2082. Combined with the increasing number of hospitals and health care providers transitioning to using electronic health records, it is no wonder that the 2010-11 Occupational Outlook Handbook, published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, expects the medical records and health information technician field to grow much faster than average with very good job prospects. Obtaining your coding license can jumpstart your career in this expanding field.
