Purchase a CPC study guide, such as "Driver CPC - The Official DSA Guide for Professional Bus and Coach Drivers," published by TSO. You can buy these at a bookstore or search for them online. Some sites let you download the guide as a PDF document for immediate review.
Study for the test using the guide, which provides you with the kinds of questions that will be on the official test, case study modules, carrying loads safely, regulations, rules and laws, and health and safety. You can also enroll in a driving school course, which gives you hands-on training for the driving portion of the exam. Contact your local driving schools to find those that provide CPC training.
Take a practice exam to gauge your strengths and weaknesses. Score the exam and focus the bulk of your study on the areas in which you are weak. If you are in a driving class, your instructor will likely provide practice exams and questions for you to review.
Register for your CPC test. Depending on where you live, you may be able to register online. If not, you will have to register by phone or through the postal service. You will also need to pay all appropriate fees.
Take the four-part driving test to obtain your CPC license. You must pass all four modules to receive your license.
