How to Get Your 101 Card

The Civil Air Patrol Emergency Services Specialty Qualification Card, also known 101 card, allows members of the Air Force to train for and participate in Emergency Services activities. Cadets who want to apply for a 101 card must have the Curry Achievement grade; this involves a test on leadership and drill, moral leadership participation and the Cadet Physical Fitness Test. Senior airmen must have completed the Level 1 training course and all applicants must take and pass the CAPT 116: General Emergency Services test.

Instructions

  1. Take the CAPT 116 Test

    • 1

      Go to the Civil Air Patrol website at tests.cap.af.mil/ops/tests/default.cfm. Select the CAPT 116 test and enter your CAP identification and name.

      Complete the test. When you pass you will be directed to a page that displays your certificate of completion.

      Print out 2 copies of your certificate. One you will present to your squadron and one you will keep for your own records.

    Printing Your 101 Card

      Go to the CAP login page at capnhq.gov and log in to the system.

      Select the tab titled "101 Card." Scroll down until you reach the section that requires you to enter your characteristics such as height, eye and hair color and weight. Enter this information and click "Submit Characteristics."

      Scroll down until you see your 101 Card. Make sure that it does not say "VOID" across it. If it does, you have not completely entered the required characteristic information. Check that both the GES and IS100 lines have "(no expire)" after them. If they do not, some part of your required information has not been completed correctly.

      Click on the link "Click Here to Obtain Your 101 Card" and print out your card.
