How to Get Your ASVAB Score

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test determines the skills and aptitude of potential recruits who want to enlist in the United States Armed Frces. Each division of the Armed Forces -- Navy, Army, Air Force and Marines -- have different scoring methods and minimum test standards. According to Military.com there are no right or wrong answers. The test scores determine what jobs the recruit is qualified totrain for in the armed forces. Obtain ASVAB test scores through the recruiter, recruiting office or high school counselor.

      Look on the enlistment contract to acquire the ASVAB score. Locate DD Form 1966/1 under section 18 on your enlistment contract. The results from the Armed Forces Qualification Test will also be in this section.

      Contact the testing recruiter if you are not enlisted, or do not have the enlistment contract. The recruiter will retrieve your information and tell you in person or mail the results. Recruiters are not allowed to disclose this information over the phone.

      Visit the recruiting office to obtain scores. The ASVAB test scores will remain on file for two years and will be accessible through the recruiting office. You will have to visit the office in person or request the scores to be mailed. Test scores older than two years are no longer valid, and the test will have to be retaken.

      Obtain the scores from the high school counselor if you tested through your high school. Once testing is complete and calculated the counselor and yourself will receive copies of the score. This method will be the quickest way to obtain results if the potential recruit is attending school.
