The ASVAB, or Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, is a standardized test given to all prospective U.S. soldiers. Test scores are used to determine whether soldiers may enlist, and what positions they will be eligible for in their branch of service. When completing the test, a tester receives subscores for 9-10 subtests, depending on test version taken. One of the key subscores calculated from ASVAB results is the General Technical (GT) score, which is a criterion for several advanced military positions.
