Environmental Systems Research Institute developed and maintains the geographic information system application ArcGIS. Users can create custom-made maps to share and analyze, taking advantage of both pre-made basemaps and user-generated overlays to display exactly the information they need. The institute provides free access to an online ArcGIS client and a number of basemaps, which give users the chance to explore and manipulate the world. Learning how to connect to ArcGis World Street Map allows you to view highway and street data for the world.

Launch your Web browser.

Navigate to the ArcGIS Online website. (See Resources.) Click "Map" along the top navigation bar.

Click "Basemap" to access the basemap gallery. Choose "Streets" from the thumbnail gallery.

Use the graphical interface to explore the World Street Map. Add other maps and overlays as desired.
