Chaffey College (chaffey.edu)is a two-year public institution located approximately 16 miles from the center of Riverside. It is the oldest junior college in California. Its nurse assistant program is approved by the California Department of Public Health. Mission Career College (missioncareercollege.us) is a private college offering four different programs related to nursing. The first is a 160-hour nursing assistant program. Of those hours, 60 are theory based and the other 100 are clinical. This program also includes full assistance in completing the state certification application and taking the state licensing exam. A 40-hour home health aid program is also available. For those seeking quick entrance into the job field, this college also offers an electrocardiogram technician program that requires two weekends to complete. The school's phlebotomy technician program lasts three and half weeks including a 40-hour externship.
