Colleges in Ontario That Offer Medical Transcribing Programs

Doctors rely on medical transcriptionists to type up recordings of exams and test results. This career has become popular with the availability of dictation equipment that lets transcriptionists work remotely. However, the field requires comprehensive training to keep up with changing regulations and technology. By becoming certified, students will be better prepared for employment. Several Ontario, Canada, colleges have programs that train students for the certification exam.

    • triOS college offers a medical transcription program that is available at Ontario campuses in Mississauga, Kitchener, Windsor, Hamilton, London and Toronto. The 52-week program has both classroom and practical components, including an internship in the field. A student is qualified to take the medical transcription certification exam given by the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) once she has graduated.
