West Georgia Technical College has branch locations in Carrollton, Newman, Douglasville, LaGrange and Waco. The school is the result of a consolidation of 14 area public, vocation-technical colleges by the Georgia state legislature in 2008. Among the school's 130 programs of study is a 26-credit certificate course in phlebotomy. Students in the program take courses in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and computer science and spend eight credit hours in clinical, healthcare settings. The school participates in federal, state and veterans' financial aid programs and also offers a limited number of scholarships for students.

A public career college, Atlanta Technical College is located in Georgia's capital city, Atlanta. The college's phlebotomy program requires students to study for two quarters at the school, requiring around six months of full-time study. Eight credit hours in the program are gained through clinical experience in hospitals and physicans' offices.
The school offers a guarantee that will provide free re-training to any students whose employers feels they are not adequately trained to work in phlebotomy or any of the college's other programs. Atlanta Technical College offers many financial aid programs, including federal and state grants and loans as well as work study. A childcare facility is located on-site for students with children.

Located in College Park, Clinical Skills Training Center is 12 miles southwest of Atlanta. A private institution, the center provides full and part-time phlebotomy training courses that last between six and 16 weeks. At the conclusion of the program, students can take the American Medical Technologist certification test right at the school. Job placement assistance is available to graduates. The school does not participate in financial aid programs, but does offer tuition payment plans to make the cost of attending classes more affordable.

Founded in 1966, Central Georgia Technical College is a public two-year institution. In addition to its main campus in Macon, the school offers its phlebotomy certificate course in Midgeville and Eatonton. The school requires 26 credit hours of study to complete the training program, and similarly to Georgia's other public technical colleges, requires eight credit hours of clinical experience before graduation.
To enroll in the program, students must have current CPR certification, pass a physical examination and show written evidence of receiving a Hepatitis B vaccine. Financial aid is available for qualified students.
