• The Lively Technical Center provides an electricity program where students take classes entitled electrical helper, residential electrician and commercial electrician. The school teaches you everything you need to know in order to handle electrical wiring, motors, power and lighting. It can even set you up with an apprenticeship class to further learn your skills once your classes are finished. For an advanced course load, consider attending the electronic technology program. It teaches students about the ins and outs of various types of electronics, including audio-visual equipment and office systems. Lively Technical Center works with local businesses to help place students in their new electrical careers.

Manatee Technical Institute

• Located in Bradenton, Florida, the Manatee Technical Institute provides an electrician continuing education program. It consists of 75 course hours and prepares you for the electrical license exam for masters and journeymen of the electrical profession. Study for the test with up to 20 other students and brush up on all of the subjects you'll face during your examination. Enrollment is limited for the electrician continuing education program. Sign up with Manatee Technical Institute ahead of time to ensure your place in the next course session.

Ridge Career Center

• At the Ridge Career Center, you can choose to take your classes in electricity either during the day or in the evenings. Electricity students will learn about becoming an electrician helper, a residential electrician and a commercial electrician throughout their studies. Classes run from the middle of August until the beginning of next June. Classes at the Ridge Career Center are less expensive than taking an electrical course at a large university or public community college.
