Miami Dade College's School of Nursing is adjacent to the University of Miami's Jackson Medical Campus near downtown Miami. This puts a wealth of health care resources within convenient reach of MDC's College of Nursing. For acceptance into MDC's LPN program, students must pass the TABE (Test of Basic Adult Education) and the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) as well as pass a course called "Introduction to Health Care." Once accepted, the program takes three semesters to complete, after which students are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses).
