Accelerated LPN Nursing Schools

Accelerated nursing programs help licensed practical nurses (LPNs) become registered nurses (RNs) at a faster pace by giving them credit for the nursing knowledge they've already gained. Students may be able to test out of certain courses that teach material they already know. According to degreedirectory.org, accelerated LPN-to-RN programs offer either an associate's degree in nursing (A.D.N.) or a Bachelor of Science in nursing (B.S.N.) in about half the time of regular nursing programs.
  1. Pacific Lutheran University

    • Students who have already completed an LPN program at an accredited institution can earn a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree at Pacific Lutheran in five semesters, or 2 1/2 years. Some courses, such as human anatomy and physiology, are considered prerequisites that must be completed before entering the program. Students are advised not to work while enrolled in the LPN-to-RN program due to time-management issues.
